Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in various fields (Physiology/Pharmacology/Anatomy/Pathology) – AC2217MR
The School of Medicine wishes to recruit both full-time and part-time experienced lecturers in various fields (including physiology, pharmacology, anatomy or pathology) to support the expanding teaching and research repertoire. An appointment at Senior Lecturer level is possible but will depend on the experience of the candidate.
You will be a scholar with a growing international research reputation and commitment to delivering high quality teaching within the broad field of Medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to have a range of interests, to be active in research publication that strengthens or complements those in the School and to be capable of teaching the subject to undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Candidates should hold a PhD in a cognate discipline. Excellent teaching skills and an interest in promoting knowledge exchange are essential. You should also have some familiarity with grant seeking processes in relation to research councils and other sources.
The successful candidates will:
• Have experience of teaching medical or closely related subjects at undergraduate or postgraduate levels.
• Hold a qualification in a relevant field.
• Aspire to a course leadership position in the Graduate Entry MBCHB or BSc Hons Medicine programmes.
The role holders will teach on the ScotGEM MBChB programme (Graduate entry) as well as the BSc (Hons) Medicine and MSC programme run from the School of Medicine as required.
The posts will start on 6 January 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter and be for 3 years in the first instance with possible extension.

Salary: Lecturer: £41,526 - £51,034 per annum,
Senior Lecturer: £52,559 - £59,135 per annum
