An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Research Business Development and Contracts section at the University of St Andrews as a Senior Business Development Manager. Educated to at least degree level (or equivalent) and preferably holding a relevant postgraduate or higher business qualification, you will be an experienced business person with the ability to network and influence at the highest level in order to secure research funding. A self-starter, you will possess sound judgement, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to use your initiative in order to meet deadlines and service standards. You will report directly to the Head of Research Business Development and Contracts.

Duties and responsibilities will include line management of a team of Business Development Managers, developing a more strategic approach to research business development across all disciplines, with a particular emphasis on building external relationships and strategic alliances to maximise research income and grow high level public, industry and previously unexplored sources of research funding, in order to realise the University’s primary goals and that of the section.

Experience in a similar role and an understanding of research and the Higher Education sector would be advantageous.
