Senior Library Assistant (Acquisitions & E-resources) - CG8228MR

The University Library is looking for a flexible individual with a strong eye for detail to join our Acquisitions + E-resources Team.  The post is currently based in the Main Library building.  The primary focus of the post is to support the acquisition of material, both electronic and print, on behalf of the University Library.  You will be trained to manage subscriptions as well as one-off purchases.  You will use the Library management system (Millennium/Sierra) to place and receive orders and to record associated financial information.  The Team prides itself on the quality of its customer service.  You will be expected to liaise directly with suppliers to resolve any supply issues whenever necessary.

You will have been educated to Higher or equivalent school level. You should have experience of using a computer system to purchase materials and manage financial transactions.  Some experience of working in a library or similar service environment would be useful.

You will be able to work alone and as part of a team, also to work under pressure to targets and deadlines. A methodical and highly-organised approach is essential to this post. You will need to demonstrate the ability to communicate well with work colleagues, library users and external suppliers in order to understand their requirements.
