Research Fellow - AR2352SB

We wish to recruit a well motivated and committed PDRA for a fixed-term post until 31 March 2023 to work with Professor Anne Magurran and Dr Maria Dornelas on our Leverhulme Research Project:  Darwin, Wallace, Bates and biodiversity change in the Anthropocene. The goal of this project is to develop a predictive framework to understand biodiversity change. In this it will integrate the insights of ecological pioneers with contemporary thinking and test hypotheses using the BioTIME database (biotime.st-andrews.ac.uk) and case studies.

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant subject (community ecology or statistical ecology). Programming skills (preferably using R), data handling and statistical skills are essential for this post, while experience of working with temporal and spatial ecological datasets is highly desirable.

The work will be based at the Centre for Biological Diversity at the University of St Andrews, Scotland.

This post is until 31 March 2023 and will start after 1 August 2020.

Informal enquires to Professor Anne Magurran email: aem1@st-andrews.ac.uk.

The University is committed to equality for all, demonstrated through our working on diversity awards (ECU Athena SWAN/Race Charters; Carer Positive; LGBT Charter; and Stonewall).  More details can be found at http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/diversityawards/.
