The ICT Purchasing Officer works with the ICT Resources Officer to establish and implement internal governance standards and systems of control that regulate purchasing activities and to provide high level day-to-day support in the operation and delivery of a centralised ICT purchasing and asset management function. The post holder is also required from time to time to assist the ICT Resources Officer in the preparation of reliable ICT financial and operational information for use in supporting the work of the IT department.
The University is now seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and trained replacement for the post of ICT Purchasing Officer from the beginning of March 2017 until the end of December 2017, to provide Maternity Leave Cover for the present incumbent. Ideally, the successful candidate would be in place as soon as possible to allow for a short period of familiarisation and training before the maternity leave starts.
Preferably educated to degree standard or equivalent in accountancy, finance or ICT the successful candidate will additionally have:
Experience of managing and resolving purchasing requests
Taking ownership of those requests until their resolution.
Excellent inter personal and negotiation skills with customers and a results focused attitude, able to work openly and co-operatively with others, both within immediate project teams and with customers elsewhere in the University and suppliers outside.
Excellent written and oral communications skills, strong numeracy skills and a proven track record in the provision of reliable financial and operational information.
Experience of delivery within a Higher Education environment would be an advantage.
Internal secondment will be considered.
