Details
We wish to appoint a Lecturer/Reader in Earth Sciences, starting by 1 August 2016.

The area of expertise is open but we are particularly interested to augment research in stable isotope geochemistry. We seek a candidate who would utilise and help long-term development of our new gas source IR-MS facility, featuring two Thermo MAT 253 mass spectrometers, with applications including, but not limited to, quadruple S, triple O, Se, and clumped isotope analyses.  The facility benefits from custom-made preparation lines for SF6 extraction and is supported by two class-100 clean labs. The Department runs two BSc Honours programmes in Geology and Environmental Earth Sciences and an integrated Masters (MGeol) course in Earth Science, and is commencing a taught MSc.

The position is aimed at the Lecturer level but we will consider appointment at the Reader level for outstanding candidates.

Informal enquiries can be made to Professor Peter Cawood, email: peter.cawood@st-andrews.ac.uk.
