POST: Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Infectious Diseases with either General Medicine or Microbiology
LOCATION: Based at the Medical School, University of St Andrews, St Andrews and at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy FIFE
Whole Time – 10 Programmed Activities
We require a Senior Lecturer/Consultant Physician in Infectious Diseases with either Medical Microbiology or General Medicine to join the growing Infection research strand at the University of St Andrews and contribute to the development of the clinical infection service provided by NHS Fife. We are looking for a motivated and forward thinking individual who will integrate well with clinical and laboratory colleagues to enhance delivery of clinical infection services across Fife and who will also be expected to develop an independent research portfolio. It is hoped that the successful candidate will in addition contribute to medical or laboratory on call as appropriate.
The St Andrews Medical School tops the student satisfaction table and has a growing research portfolio in Infection that includes clinical trials in tuberculosis, molecular diagnostics, epidemiology and genomics of infection. It has a growing reputation in the area of translational infection and provides the infrastructure for internationally competitive research in this area.
