Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position to perform mass spectrometry of biological molecules within our well-equipped Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Core Facility.  This Facility, based in the Biomedical Sciences Research Complex, is core to the biomolecular research efforts in the University and collaborates with a number of external research groups both nationally and internationally. In addition to playing a role in running samples as part of the Facility team, you will be expected to develop external collaborations.  Ideally the applicant will have experience to the Ph.D. level in MALDI and nanoESI MS and MS/MS of peptides with a background in biochemistry or a related discipline and have some bioinformatics knowledge.  The post is funded for two years in the first instance with the possibility of renewal depending on the Facility income generated.
