We wish to appoint a well-motivated and organised part-time Researcher (0.4 fte). The Research Assistant will be responsible for the development and evaluation of an applied project working with NHS patients, using the teachable moment hypothesis for behaviour change. The role provides an exciting opportunity to be involved in clinical applications of research. The successful candidate therefore needs to be comfortable working independently and have excellent communication skills that will allow them to work with a variety of healthcare professionals and the sensitivities of working with cancer patients.

You should have a good first degree in psychology and an MSc in Health Psychology.  Applicants should have experience developing and delivering behaviour change interventions in applied settings (e.g. the NHS) and a good understanding of using the 'teachable moment' hypothesis in behaviour change.

The post is available from 1st September 2014 to complete on 31st October 2015.  The hours of work will be 16 per week to be arranged with the School.
