The School of History is seeking to appoint to a new position within the AHRC-funded Universal Short Title Catalogue group.  The successful candidate will work on a new project, ‘Preserving the World’s Rarest Books’.  This project is financed by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation of New York.  This is a full-time position, for a fixed term of three years.

The successful candidate is likely to have experience working within the field of either Italian or French history or literature, and to have prior experience of working with early printed books.  A good command of both French and Italian is essential.  Command of Latin or one other European language in addition to English would be an advantage.  There are no teaching duties attached to this post, although opportunities to obtain teaching experience may be available by agreement with the Project Director.
