Details
We seek to recruit a highly motivated individual for an EPSRC-funded Research Fellowship position to work in Professor Paul Kamer's group.

We would like to invite highly motivated candidates to apply for this postdoctoral position on the “Catalytic conversion of renewable feedstocks” at the University of St Andrews, as part of the interdisciplinary EPSRC funded critical mass project “Clean catalysis for sustainable development“. This position will predominantly involve the development of efficient catalysts for the conversion of renewable feedstocks including lignin derived from biomass waste materials and CO2.

By combining our expertise in ligand design and computational methods we will develop novel catalytic methods to convert renewable and waste feedstocks to important products such as fuels, chemicals and polymers. Strong emphasis will be on mechanistic studies and ligand fine-tuning to obtain detailed understanding of the catalytic process and optimal catalyst performance.

In addition, the successful candidate will participate in regular meetings and workshops within the critical mass project and related partnerships such EU-funded SuBiCat International Training Network (ITN).You will be required to hold a PhD in Organometallic Chemistry, homogeneous catalysis or related areas.

The post is fixed term for one year but a possible extension can be discussed and will start as soon as possible.

Informal enquiries can be directed to: Paul Kamer, Tel: (+44)1334 467285, email: pcjk@st-andrews.ac.uk.
