We are seeking to recruit a well-qualified, experienced and motivated EAP professional to join the University’s In-sessional English Language Service (IELS) teaching team for the coming academic year.

As Deputy, you will work closely with the IELS Coordinator, assisting in the management and administration of the Service and providing EAP development for postgraduate students throughout the academic year.  You will design and develop workshops and tutorials for students and contribute to the creation of materials, programme development and the overall teaching and learning within IELS and the English Language Teaching department.

You will be responsible for ensuring the continuing quality and relevance of the content, and you will develop new discipline-specific materials as required. You will also liaise with staff in a number of Schools to ensure the continuing relevance of the programme content.

In addition to a good first degree, you will be educated to at least Masters level in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or other relevant discipline and you will have a teaching qualification and significant teaching experience, including recent experience of teaching EAP at university level.  You will have demonstrable cultural awareness; good administrative and time management skills and be used to working collaboratively as part of a successful team.
