The Music Centre and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra seek a Graduate Trainee from August 2016 to July 2017. The Trainee’s main responsibility will be to help staff from both organisations to develop the SCO’s ongoing and highly successful residency at the University. In addition, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to work on a number of other major projects for both organisations, including the Music Centre’s opera production of Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen (in association with MacOpera, to be mounted in St Andrews and other venues around Scotland), and SCO Creative Learning Projects in Edinburgh and elsewhere in Scotland. The Trainee will be based mainly in St Andrews, but will also work at certain periods of the year from the SCO’s offices in Edinburgh. Candidates should have a wide knowledge of music, practical experience as a musician and some experience of arts administration.
This is an opportunity intended for recent graduates of the University of St Andrews. Applications will be considered from anyone who has completed an undergraduate or postgraduate programme at the University in 2014 or 2015, or is due to complete one by June 2016.
