The University of St Andrews is seeking to enhance its research strength in Statistics. Following recent appointments to the Gregory Chair in Applied Mathematics and the Regius Chair in Mathematics, we seek to establish a new research group that will broaden our research base in Statistics and complement our world-leading expertise in Statistical Ecology. We invite applications from suitably-qualified individuals working in any area of Statistics. We would especially welcome applicants whose research might link well with existing strengths in Statistics, and potential links with the research areas of the recent Gregory Chair (Mathematical Biology) and Regius Chair (Pure Mathematics) appointments, or with researchers from other disciplines, would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be on the appointment committee for at least one lectureship to support the creation of a new research group in Statistics.
Applications are particularly welcome from women who are under-represented in Science posts at the University. You can find out more about Equality and Diversity at

The University of St Andrews is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all, which is further demonstrated through its working on the Gender and Race Equality Charters and being awarded the Athena SWAN award for women in science, HR Excellence in Research Award and the LGBT Charter;
