Applications are invited for the post of Recruitment Marketing Manager working across the busy Admissions team.

Working in a high energy environment with extremely motivated and specialist colleagues who are focused on building long-term relationships to support student recruitment and admissions through external engagement and personalised communication, the successful post holder has responsibility for playing a direct role in the achievement of the university’s targets for admissions. A natural forward planner who is capable of pulling together a shared vision which adds value to the existing activity of the team, the postholder is also self-driven, agile, professional, authentic and team-oriented.

A significant foci of the work in Admissions are activities related to external engagement and targeted communication with prospective students locally, nationally and internationally. The work of Admissions involves:
  • marketing of all of the university’s full-degree programmes,
  • undergraduate, study abroad and postgraduate recruitment,
  • management of and participation in key stakeholder engagement events,
  • welcoming and interacting with visitors,
  • visiting, hosting and developing relationships with schools and universities,
  • planning and executing focussed conferences,
  • training university agent representatives,
  • running widening participation and access projects, 
  • planning, managing and running summer programmes, 
  • reading applications and admissions selection, and
  • conversion activities with students holding offers.
This is a new and exciting opportunity for a marketing professional to lead on all of our creative work for the Admissions team, both general recruitment materials for all markets and bespoke materials targeted at a range of audiences (prospective undergraduate, study abroad and postgraduate applicants, student holding an offer to study at St Andrews, entrants, their guardians and influencers, staff and members of the St Andrews community).

The successful post holder will be the lynch pin between colleagues assisting with the delivery of creative work from the internal Communications team (Publications, Digital, Press, Media), external agencies delivering the same, Admissions colleagues and academic Schools.

This role will guide and implement general and bespoke marketing campaigns using a variety of media (print, radio, digital, video, social) which will support the delivery of objectives outlined in the various market engagement plans owned by recruiters. These objectives include raising awareness of the university in all markets, encouraging applications from suitably qualified students, regularly engaging with applicants by electronic means, encouraging quick conversion from offer holders and keeping new entrant students and their influencers well informed of al steps to matriculation.

The presentation of information in an accurate and tailored manner for our target audiences is an area of key importance to the university’s strategic delivery of admissions plans and targets. This role will ensure that all of the marketing communications related to admissions accurately represent the university brand (visual identity and corporate image), support and manage the reputation and perception of the University of St Andrews and accurately and compliantly portray the teaching, learning and student experience.
 
Applicants should be able to demonstrate good experience of marketing communications ideally within an education setting to support and add value to recruitment and admissions activities, and show their potential in supporting a lasting and positive impression of the university brand in a variety of markets and cultural contexts.
