Within the Catering Services department an exciting opportunity for 3 Chefs has arisen for reliable hardworking individuals who wish to develop their team working skills and increase their knowledge of working within a food orientated environment.

The successful candidates will have to have experience in food preparation, cooking and regenerating for up to 500 covers on a daily basis, want to learn and develop their skills, show a genuine interest in food and be able to mentor junior chefs. They must also carry out daily task planning, cost controlling and stock rotation.

These positions will not be based in one location and these chefs will be expected to work in a number of locations within the University and also within the Byre Theatre Restaurant kitchen.

You must be able to work as part of a team, communicate well with customers and colleagues and have a positive can-do attitude.

You must ensure compliance with all aspects of health and safety and food hygiene standards and adherence to the relevant legislation as well as the Universities codes of practice.

The contract is for 36.25 hours per week for 52 weeks, starting date to be confirmed.
