Lecturer in Creative Writing - AC1826KC
School of English,
Salary: £38,511 - £47,328 per annum,
Start: To be confirmed
The School of English seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Creative Writing. The School is seeking someone with a strong record of both teaching and publication and preferably with some first-hand experience of CW Masters and MFA programmes, either as a graduate or a lecturer. The candidate will develop the teaching of poetry and prose alongside current staff at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The candidate will also be expected to assist with the programming of public events and with the regular updating of the CW website, and they will oversee the publication of the digital CW magazine that students produce as part of the MFA. They will jointly co-ordinate undergraduate Creative Writing modules, and assist in the teaching of the existing Masters programme and new MFA degree. They will also, like all other staff, take on some administrative responsibility for the smooth running of the School. Just as importantly, they will be expected to work on their own writing, and to publish regularly and at a high level. This post offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside a number of internationally-known writers in the fields of poetry, prose and drama, and for the successful candidate to further their own writing in a supportive, friendly and beautiful environment. A specialism in poetry might be an advantage, but applications from writers in all genres are welcome.
