Within the Catering Services department, this is an exciting opportunity for a floating Chef.  We are looking for a reliable hardworking individual who would like to develop their team working skills and increase their knowledge of working within a food orientated environment.

You will have experience in food preparation, cooking and regenerating for up to 500 covers on a daily basis.  You will be willing to learn and develop your skills, show a genuine interest in food and be able to mentor junior chefs. You will carry out daily task planning, cost controlling and stock rotation.  

The position will not be based in one location and the Chef will be expected to work in a number of locations within the University and also within the Byre Theatre Restaurant kitchen.

You must be able to work as part of a team, communicate well with customers and colleagues and have a positive can-do attitude.

You must ensure compliance with all aspects of health and safety and food hygiene standards and adherence to the relevant legislation as well as the Universities codes of practice.
