The Change Unit within IT Services at the University of St Andrews is seeking to appoint a Change Facilitator to assist in the management and co-ordination of Change initiatives across the University and to assist in the establishment of a permanent and fundamental shift in institutional culture to one of continuous improvement, customer service and business efficiency.

The Unit provides expertise in lean facilitation, project management, business analysis and change management. In addition, the Unit provides services on a consultancy basis, both nationally and internationally, predominantly to higher education institutions.
 
Candidates should be educated to degree level or have significant relevant work experience and have a good understanding of Higher Education processes. Experience of one or more of Lean Methodology, Project Management, Business Analysis and Change Management would be an advantage. Full training will be given.

Additionally candidates should be able to demonstrate:
  • Good interpersonal and facilitation skills with the ability to work effectively as a project team leader, as part of a team and collaboratively with staff at all levels
  • An understanding of how people go through a change and of the change process
  • Good relationship management skills with the ability to lead, motivate and influence staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with a wide range of people, both internal and external to the University
  • Ability to assess and organise resources and plan and progress project activities to achieve results and deal successfully with a range of issues
  • Customer focused approach with the ability to understand both University and customer goals and priorities
  • Ability to show initiative and develop creative approaches to problem solving and develop appropriate solutions to a range of problems
  • Good written and numeric skills.  Computer literate.  Confident with reporting and spreadsheet packages.
This is a 3 year fixed term post.
