Applications are invited for the position of Information Analyst, within the Planning & Benchmarking Team.

Working under the direction of the Senior Planning Officer, the Planning & Benchmarking team supports the planning function across the Institution by providing an analytical and reporting service for all pro-actively as well as on demand.

We provide management information and analytical briefings across a wide range of internal and external data sources, meeting a variety of planning and monitoring requirements. We monitor, analyse, benchmark and contextualise reports and data publications from relevant external sources such as surveys, statistical publications, funding council reports and prepare relevant briefings, recommendations and advice in relation to these to enable decision making.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide robust accurate statistical analysis and management information to key customers and stakeholders including Senior Management.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a numerate or analytical subject, ideally with 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Higher Education sector and with knowledge of relevant external data sources and methodologies such as HESA, NSS or SFC data.

The post requires excellent data management and analytical skills. The successful candidate will have a systematic approach to problem solving, often involving complex information or relationships. The post holder will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be highly motivated about working within the team to enhance our service provision.
