St Andrews Chemistry is a dynamic research environment with ~35 research leaders, ~140 Ph.D students and 90 PDRAs. We also have a major focus on maintaining excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. We offer undergraduate courses to MChem level and in 2015 St Andrews Chemistry graduated the largest class in our history. St Andrews is the lead partner of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Critical Resource Catalysis, a Ph.D training programme directly relevant to the advertised appointments.
We welcome applications from outstanding early and mid-career candidates. A Ph.D in an appropriate area is essential, and you will already have a developing research programme, visible by high quality published outputs and impacts. The successful applicants will have demonstrated an ability to finance their research programme, successfully competing for significant peer reviewed funding. Applicants must also be required to demonstrate a commitment to high quality teaching, preferably in inorganic and/or inorganic materials chemistry, and will have guided Ph.D students to thesis completion. Outstanding candidates with an alternative background will also be given full consideration.
