Details
We are seeking to recruit a suitably motivated, qualified and experienced Strength and Conditioning Coach to assist the Strength and Conditioning Manager in planning and delivering high quality strength and conditioning support for a range of clubs and individuals and in developing new services to cater for growing demand and changing needs.

You will work closely with the Strength and Conditioning Manager in planning, delivering and developing general and sport-specific strength and conditioning services for student Performance Sport clubs and individual elite athletes.  You will also play a major role in ensuring that strength and conditioning activities are carried out in a safe and effective manner at all times.  In addition you will assist in providing mentoring support and delivering training to student Strength and Conditioning interns.

The University Sports Centre is currently undergoing facility redevelopment; this will present exciting opportunities for the strength and conditioning service to grow and develop in response to the increasingly complex and wide-ranging needs of Saints Sport and student Performance Sport clubs in particular.

You will also work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to enhance sport on a wider scale within the Department of Sport and Exercise and Athletic Union and within Scottish higher education as a whole, with the objectives of enhancing the student experience at St Andrews by increasing participation in physical activity and raising the University’s rankings in national student leagues.

You will be a graduate or equivalent in sports science or a related discipline, an Accredited/Certified member of the UKSCA or ASCA (Level 2) and have a proven track record in the design and delivery of physical preparation programmes for athletes of various abilities, ages and sports.  You will work well within a team, have a proactive and professional attitude and be an excellent role model.

This post involves working annualised hours with approximately 65% of the total hours worked during semester time.  Semester hours will mainly cover late afternoons and early evenings Mondays to Fridays plus occasional weekend work.
