Title
Registry Senior Administrator - CG1060ML
Vacancy Description
Registry, Salary: £21,605 - £25,023 per annum, Start Date: As soon as possible
Details
Academic Registry is a key central professional service unit of the University supporting Schools, students, Senior Management and external stake-holders through admissions, the administration of student records, curriculum and timetabling records and the provision of associated reporting.  Members of staff are required to work flexibly and provide support across the Unit according to the priorities of the academic cycle.

The chief function of the Team is to safeguard the integrity of the student record and associated infrastructural academic data including the University’s degree programme portfolio.  The Academic Data Team works closely with Registry colleagues and teams to provide systems and data-related training, academic policy support and quality assurance of student record data.

The Academic Data Team works alongside ITS staff on the development and implementation of student record system (SITS:Vision) functionality and the various associated peripheral systems such as the University’s centralised Data Warehouse.

The Unit actively supports the University’s strategy of improving the effectiveness and integration of administrative processes with various projects and cross-unit functions.  As a member of the Academic Data Team within Registry the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support these projects alongside the routine duties of the role.  (The Academic Data Team is closely involved in current projects specifically relating to the University’s commitment to integrate centrally held data on the student record from first contact to career development.)

Each member of the Academic Data Team is actively encouraged to become expert in the field of academic data so that the team as a whole is able to provide the University with individual and tailored advice on key areas of the student record.  Academic colleagues across the University rely on the Academic Data Team to provide professional intelligent reporting from the student record system (SITS:Vision) both formally and through ad hoc requests.  Members of the team are encouraged to think creatively to seek solutions for better efficiency in and management of student and curricular data.

The University of St Andrews is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all, which is further demonstrated through its working on the Gender and Race Equality Charters and being awarded the Athena SWAN award for women in science, HR Excellence in Research Award and the LGBT Charter;  http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/diversityawards/.
