Details
We are seeking to appoint a BBSRC funded Research Fellow to undertake research in the laboratory of Dr Justin Ales. The research will involve the use state-of-the-art multimodal neuroimaging to determine the neural mechanisms responsible for processing long-range motion. Our understanding only applies to a small sub-set of real-world motions, those that happen over small intervals of space and time, and can be simply defined and studied under lab conditions. In the natural environment humans are able to perceive motion over a much wider set of conditions. The research project involves using data from both fMRI and EEG and interpreting that data using a computational model. As this brings together multiple techniques it is not expected that an applicant have expertise in all areas. The successful applicant will be provided training in any of necessary area.
The Research Fellow should have a background in an Expertise with EEG or fMRI data would be helpful. Experience programming in Matlab (or python) is essential.
The appointment may be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis, and flexible working may be available to suit the right candidates.
Please see the further particulars for more information on the role, responsibilities of the post and the person specification.
