We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Grounds Supervisor who will manage the day to day operational provision of the University’s external recreational environment and grounds maintenance services.  

You will pursue a programme of continual improvement of the University’s external recreational environment and grounds areas. You will motivate and manage staff and understand, prepare and manage budgets.  You will require to assist other University staff in their duties as may be required.  

You should have excellent organisation skills and extensive horticultural knowledge along with expertise in the preparation and maintenance of natural and synthetic sports surfaces. You will have a good general understanding of overall grounds maintenance incorporating the built and natural environment.  You will have previous management experience and a proven track record within a similar environment.  Experience of contract management and commercial awareness would be desirable.  The ability to communicate well at all levels is essential, as are strong leadership and motivational qualities.  

You should be educated to HNC or similar level in a relevant discipline and you should be conversant in IT software packages.  You should have a full valid driving licence.  You must be flexible in your working hours and be able to provide cover as required.
