An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual interested in developing his/her prospect research career in a thriving Development Office.  

We are seeking a well-organised and highly motivated individual to undertake prospect research in support of the University’s fundraising and events programme.  

The Development Assistant (Research) will work closely with colleagues in the prospect research, fundraising, database and event teams to identify and supply high quality information on prospective donors and supporters for cultivation events and briefings in advance of meetings. The role holder will also use a number of research tools to identify new prospective donors associated with St Andrews.  

We are seeking an individual with an understanding of, and passion for, the third sector as well as recognising the importance of philanthropy to higher education. Applicants should be educated to HND level or equivalent and have a good understanding of the principles of prospect / business research. This post requires all-round database skills including the ability to undertake data manipulation and analysis, together with robust IT skills in both Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience of fundraising and relational databases would be beneficial.
