Programme Rules Manager - AD1665SB
Senate Efficiency Review (SER),
Salary: £25,769 - £30,738 per annum pro rata,
Start: As soon as possible,
Fixed term for 6 months
This challenging role will be key to the successful delivery of two institutional student administration improvement projects managed through the Senate Efficiency Review (SER) Programme. You will be based in the SER Programme and report to the SER Project Manager (Curriculum View). Knowledge of the University’s curriculum would be an asset although it is not essential.
You will be required to input curriculum data (programmes and modules) relating to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students and to sense check and analyse the data outputs as part of the University’s commitment for better online digital information. You will need to work alongside ITS staff to help translate into pseudo language the current set of curriculum/advising programme rules and regulations from existing printed sources.
You will liaise with academic staff and colleagues in Registry and ITS in order to remove ambiguity over data and/or resolve data conflicts in the printed texts. You will work with consultants from Tribal (providers of the student record system (SITS:Vision)) to ensure that the data are recorded in an appropriate and sustainable format.
Finally, you will be key to establishing a sustainable process for ongoing maintenance and publishing of the collected information to ensure the accurate, ongoing provision of this service to future students and staff.
You will have a degree, preferably in a Science subject, or experience of an equivalent process at another HE institution. You will be a self-motivated project team player and will have excellent organisational and communication skills as well as a passion for accuracy and clarity. Experience of large data set analysis on a systematic basis with rule definitions, experience of database design with elements of systems programming, or experience with formal languages would be relevant for the post.
This post is fixed term for a minimum of 6 months (potential for extension to 31 December 2016).
