We are looking to appoint a highly motivated time served Heating Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary maintenance team responsible for the operation and maintenance of a wide range of services throughout the University Estate.
You should be qualified to a minimum of SVQ level 3 Heating and Ventilation Servicing along with Commercial Gas Safe qualifications or equivalent with extensive post qualification experience. Primarily a maintenance role, you should have previous experience of a wide range of large scale heating and hot water installations and be familiar with maintenance duties encompassing a varied and sizeable estate. You should have experience in maintaining and resolving faults in heating systems, hot water systems, air handling units, pump and control systems and the like. You will be well organized, methodical and ideally have knowledge of other associated construction trades.
You should have excellent communication skills and an enthusiastic and helpful manner. The ability to cope well when under pressure and the ability to demonstrate a flexible approach without supervision is essential. You should be able to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
You will be required to participate in the Estates Emergency Call Out Service.
Excellent terms and conditions apply – 36.25 hours/week (normal working hours generally apply but specific timings will vary between work colleagues to suit any operational needs); additional payments for out of normal work hours rota; 39 days annual leave; contributory pension scheme.
