The Special Collections Division of the University Library has a vacancy for a motivated and well-organised cataloguer to facilitate access to the Photographic Collections of the Special Collections Division of the University Library by cataloguing them to agreed standards and targets. The post-holder will be working in the Photographic Collections team.

The Special Collections Division of the University Library of St Andrews holds the largest and one of the most significant collections of historic photography in Scotland. The collection currently contains c.1,000,000 images, in a wide variety of formats, from negative, lantern slides to born digital.   

Duties will include creating collection, series and item level catalogue records for images within the collections management database (Axiell-EMu) according to current standards of best practice.  The post-holder will have excellent knowledge of photography, its history and process identification. The post-holder will undertake staff development and performance review activities as required.
