IT Services at the University of St Andrews is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Applications Support Team Leader to lead the management, development and implementation of the University’s Application Support teams (including design, security, availability, training, standards and quality control) and provide support and assistance to all service Units and Schools with any Enterprise Applications related matters.

Following a major review of its academic processes and procedures focusing on organisational change, the University is aiming to find new and more efficient ways of handling its academic processes, even if these involve significant breaks from the past.

A critical success factor for the implementation of the agreed changes to the academic processes is the use of new and improved IT systems underpinned by accessible management reports and paperless processes and workflows across the Institution that meet the requirements of the various stakeholder groups for the different services they provide or consume.

This is an exciting and varied position. The Applications Support Team Leader will be involved in working extensively with application leads and key stakeholders across the University to ensure optimum availability of enterprise application and their supporting systems.

Educated to degree standard in a science based discipline, the successful candidate will be highly numerate with proven Enterprise Applications management experience in a technical, customer focused environment and with detailed knowledge of the principles and practice of Enterprise Applications management

Additionally they will have:-
• Proven ability to lead, support and motivate others within the team to achieve business objectives.
• Proven ability to co-ordinate work across multiple departments and deliver projects within time and budgetary constraints.
• Ability to develop and lead the implementation of strategies to maintain and improve Enterprise Applications 
• Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiations skills and proven ability to work openly with others both within and without the university,
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
