The Marine Alliance for Science and Technology for Scotland (MASTS) is a research pooling initiative, funded by the Scottish Funding Council. MASTS brings together the majority of Scotland’s marine research capacity by operating as a co-ordinating body designed to:
• make better use of collective resources
• maximise the impact of evidence and analysis
• improve interactions among marine experts and interested parties in all sectors
• build efficient and effective communications networks#
• offer tailored Graduate School training and networking opportunities
The MASTS Directorate wishes to secure the services of an individual capable of operating at a high level at the interface between science, policy and industry. The role is primarily administrative and advisory with some management responsibility. The post-holder will need to have the ability to understand, interpret and communicate broad and often complex areas of marine science. The role will be varied and flexibility of approach and work ethic will be a fundamental requirement.
The position will be for 12 months in the first instance.
The anticipated start date: 1st February 2013
