School of Geography and Sustainable Development, Salary: £33,797 - £36,914 per annum, Start Date: As soon as possible, Fixed term: Until 12 May 2022

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to work on an international, interdisciplinary research project investigating the impact of COVID-19 on the behavioural drivers of antibiotic resistance in East Africa. The CARE consortium (COVID-19 and Antimicrobial Resistance in East Africa - impact and response) is a collaboration between the UK, Tanzania and Uganda, funded by the Medical Research Council, and brings together expertise from medicine, microbiology and social sciences.     

The successful candidate will take a leading role in managing large scale social science, medical and microbiological data and its linkage, and will work closely with PIs and data managers in the East African countries. The role-holder will conduct statistical analysis on the linked dataset to investigate the relationship between COVID-19 and antibiotic resistance. The successful candidate will have advanced skills in data management and statistical analysis, with a background in a relevant discipline (e.g. applied statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, quantitative sociology, population studies). They should also be experienced in manipulating and analyzing large survey datasets.    

The post is based in the School of Geography and Sustainable Development and will be closely linked with the School of Medicine.
