University Library, Salary: £22,214 - £25,728 per annum, Start Date: As soon as possible, Fixed Term for: 12 months

The Special Collections Division of the University of St Andrews Library has a vacancy for a highly motivated and well-organized individual with a commitment to a career in archives to play a role in tackling the backlog of unprocessed and uncatalogued archival collections for an anticipated fixed term of one year. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the University Library’s key strategic priorities, making our Special Collections more widely known and accessible to the national and international research community. 

The post holder will report to the Senior Archivist. You will be supporting the archivists in their management of legacy analogue collections by implementing prioritisation of cataloguing identified through the Logjam process, appraisal and review procedures.

You will have a good honours degree and evidence of commitment to a career in the archives sector. You must have experience of archival cataloguing and of working with historic materials and knowledge of collection care issues. You must have excellent time management and organizational skills, an ability to make a positive contribution to a team and work collaboratively with others. 

The post will be for 12 months.
