School of Chemistry Salary: £43,414 - £53,353 per annum Start Date: As soon as possible

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Technical Operations Manager, within the School of Chemistry at the University of St Andrews.  

 

Working alongside the Head of School, Director of Research and other senior members of academic staff you will provide strategic guidance while effectively supporting the core research of the School of Chemistry by being responsible for the lifecycle management and strategic planning of the School’s research facilities. You will lead, manage and develop efficient, professional technical services across the School to enable the delivery of world-class teaching and research. You will be a key liaison point between the School and the University, advise on University regulations and design and implement strategies for the sustainable funding of the School’s research facilities.  

 

You will be a proactive self-starter who possesses excellent team and relationship management skills, sound judgement and effective problem-solving skills. You will also have the ability to use your initiative in order to ensure overall technical operations across the School are delivered in a way that enhances the Schools’ reputation and standing in teaching and research.   

 

Experience in a similar role in a University or research environment with an understanding of teaching and research within Higher Education would be advantageous.
