School of Art History Salary: £42,149 per annum Start Date: 1 September 2022 Fixed term: 12 months (1 September 2022 to 31 August 2023)

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Education Focused) in Museum and Heritage Studies within the School of Art History. This is a fixed-term post replacing a permanent member of staff on research leave. You will be a scholar with a growing research reputation in museology or a related field and a commitment to delivering high quality teaching within the broad field of Museum and Heritage Studies. The MLitt in Museum and Heritage Studies at the University of St Andrews is distinctive in its combination of theory and practice. Run by the Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies, in association with the School of Art History and the Museums of the University of St Andrews, it prepares students for employment in museums, with broad training in all types of museums, galleries and other heritage organisations. Student learning takes place through a range of offerings including individual work placements, public engagement projects, and taught modules such as The Museum: Global Perspectives and Debates. The successful candidate will be based in the School of Art History and will contribute to teaching and research in the School of Art History more broadly.

Further information and informal enquiries may be directed to the Head of the School of Art History, Professor Linda Goddard; email: ljg21@st-andrews.ac.uk.

Applications are particularly welcome from women, people from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community, and other protected characteristics who are under-represented in Arts posts at the University.
