We are seeking to appoint a postdoctoral Research Fellow in Social Epidemiology to work on an innovative health project entitled ‘Social inequalities in chronic disease trajectories in mid and later life: taking account of multimorbidities’ funded by the Academy of Medical Sciences until 2023. The post is available for 18 months initially.
The purpose of the role will be to independently conduct analysis on linked administrative and health records in Scotland, and write up the results for dissemination at conferences and through high impact peer-reviewed publications. The successful post holder will be expected to work with large scale individual level linked census and health records in a safe setting, and linked administrative and health data as part of the HDR UK Multimorbidity cohort.
The background of the candidate will be doctoral training in a field involving large scale quantitative health data analysis, including: epidemiology, demography, quantitative geography, or medical statistics, or related disciplines. The candidate should ideally have experience conducting advanced longitudinal analysis on administrative data.
This project is based in the School of Geography and Sustainable Development within the Population and Health Research Group (

https://www.cs.st-andrews.ac.uk), who are conducting inter-related research. The candidate will join a large interdisciplinary group of multimorbidity researchers at St Andrews but with links to other institutions across the UK.
