The School of Classics, with funding provided by the Leventis Foundation, wish to appoint a temporary senior research fellow within the School. This post is available from 6 January 2020 and is fixed-term until 31 May 2022. You will be a scholar with a growing international research reputation and a commitment to contribute to the activities of at least one of the School’s Research Centres: Landscape, Late Antique, Literatures of the Roman Empire, Public Understanding of Greek and Roman Drama. The successful candidate will be expected to have a wide range of interests, to be active in research publication that strengthens or complements the School’s current expertise.
This role is suitable for early career scholars, defined as being within a four-year period from the award of a doctorate, and an interest in promoting knowledge exchange are essential.

Applicants must submit a writing sample in support of their application. This can be any published work up to 10,000 words or a thesis chapter. Based on the project brief offered below, applicants must also submit their own provisional research ideas in the form of a research proposal up to 3,000 words. The proposal will include information on theoretical interests, relevant literature and methodological strategies.
