Applications are invited for a professorship in Scottish History. The position will start on 1 August 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will complement and provide academic leadership for the cluster of scholars associated with the St Andrews Institute of Scottish Historical Research and contribute substantially to the research and teaching profile of the Institute and the School of History. The successful candidate will have a distinguished record of research and publication in Scottish History, experience of teaching Scottish and British history at all levels of the curriculum, and an ability to develop the profile of Scottish history at St Andrews through postgraduate recruitment, external research grant capture, and public engagement.
