These posts offer an opportunity to contribute to the next phase of development of the School of Management at the University of St Andrews, an internationally leading centre for management thinking. The School is ranked by the Times/ Sunday Times 2017 Guide as 1st in the UK for Business and Management; and 1st in the UK by the 2017 Complete University Guide. In REF2014, almost 80% of the School’s work was ranked as either ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’. School members work hard to achieve a supportive and friendly student-focused culture. Activities are bound together by the idea of ‘Responsible Enterprise’ – an ethos which informs teaching, scholarship and research collaborations.
The School aims to recruit talented academics in all areas of Management, and especially in Accounting, International Business, Marketing, Social Enterprise or Strategy.
The School is a distinctive, active and motivated community focused on high performance in research, teaching, and engagement with policy and practice. As part of this culture, the School places high importance on collaboration, collegiality and formal and informal forms of mentorship. All academic staff are expected to contribute across all areas of teaching (undergraduate, postgraduate, and post-experience), research, and administration.
The School seeks outstanding, creative, and collegiate academics interested in exploring contemporary issues in management through teaching, research and wider engagement.
Building synergies with existing School interests is the primary goal of these appointments; as is enhancing our open and developmental culture.
