School of Medicine, Salary: £39,992 - £49,149 per annum, Fixed Term: 3 years in the first instance, Start Date: 1 June 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter

The School of Medicine wishes to recruit a Physiology Lecturer (Education Focused) to work with undergraduate medical students and our multi-disciplinary teaching staff. The role will be to provide physiology teaching for undergraduate medical students.

The successful candidates will:
• Have experience of teaching medical or closely related subjects at undergraduate or postgraduate levels.
• Hold a qualification in physiology or other related medical sciences.

This opportunity has arisen now as the School is about to launch ScotGEM; Scotland’s first graduate entry medical degree. The programme is a joint venture between the Medical Schools of St Andrews and Dundee. While much of the programme will be delivered jointly and in the NHS these posts are St Andrews based. This increase in teaching load necessitates an uplift in the teaching staff.

The role holders will be core members of the Education Division in the School; primarily teaching on the ScotGEM MBChB programme (Graduate entry) as well as the BSc (Hons) Medicine. The role holder will teach on MSc programmes run from the School of Medicine as required.

The post will start on 1 June 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter and is for 3 years in the first instance with possible extension.
