Following a review of our support for technology transfer, the University of St Andrews is pleased to announce that we are making a significant investment into new posts in this important area.

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Knowledge Transfer Centre, based within Research and Innovation Services, as Head of Technology Transfer. The purpose of the Head of Technology Transfer post is to drive the strategic direction and operational delivery of the University’s technology transfer activities. In particular, the generation of a pipeline of opportunities derived from the research base that can be managed effectively towards impactful outcomes in line with the University’s strategy and those of the University’s key stakeholders. The post will report to the Director of Research and Innovation Services.

You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and you will have a strong track record of commercialising research in Higher Education coupled with demonstrable leadership experience relevant to technology transfer. With excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills, you will be capable of transforming technology transfer at the University of St Andrews.

The post is available now and subject to standard probationary terms.

In 2019 the University will establish purpose built office accommodation at Eden Campus, Guardbridge by St Andrews, to provide a state of the art working environment for a number of our Professional Services Units. It is anticipated that up to 450 Professional Services staff from a range of Units will be based in the new development at Guardbridge.

This post will be primarily based at the Eden Campus at Guardbridge.
