School of Medicine,
Salary: £22,214 - £25,728 per annum,
Start: As soon as possible,
Fixed term for 2 years initially
The School of Medicine’s Learning Technology (LT) Team is looking for an IT Systems Administrator. This post is part of an established small team that works to support the needs of a modern Medical School. The School prides itself on its innovative IT provision in the management and delivery of the curriculum for its BSc (Hons) in Medicine programme and a number of PG courses. The introduction of the ScotGEM postgraduate medical programme in September 2018 brings the challenges of staff and students working off campus and in rural locations. This new programme will lead to a number of interesting development opportunities particularly in the use of mobile devices. A variety of IT systems have already been developed to support the management and delivery of the curriculum. These systems require ongoing support in order to maintain the Schools excellent standard.
The post holder will work under the supervision of the Lead Systems Administrator but be part of a wider team which supports the LT team service portfolio. The post is based in the School of Medicine in the North Haugh.
This role involves working closely with staff in a frontline support role providing general support for teaching, assessment, administration and research activities within the School. The successful candidate will be able to communicate well with staff and deliver formal and informal training when required.
The post is part of the wider learning technology team, led by the Learning Technology Consultant.
The ideal candidate will have formal qualifications in a relevant subject (HNC, NVQ3 or equivalent) and have substantial experience of working in a relevant post. Alternatively this position might suit a new IT graduate. The candidate must be able to work with other team members and have the ability to communicate easily with users. They should be able to act on their own initiative, develop their own support processes and share these processes with the rest of the LT team.
The post is full time and initially on a two year, renewable contract. Hours are 36.25 per week.
