The University of St Andrews is currently seeking ambitious and dynamic individuals for the new positions of Team Leader within the University Security Team. Reporting to the Bedellus, you will initially be responsible for a team of three security officers, with responsibility for ensuring that the university is a safe and secure environment for the students and staff that live and work here, as well as for visitors.
Working across the University estate, duties will include overseeing the deployment of security officers to ensure that our buildings are secure, alarms and causes for concern are responded to appropriately, and that technology such as CCTV is utilised effectively.
These are ‘hands-on’ roles and successful candidates will preferably have a security or military/police background at supervisory level and will be expected to lead their teams with a can-do approach and to contribute positively to future service developments as part of an ongoing review project. Further training will be provided prior to deployment, and this may include some external training for which travel and accommodation expenses will be provided.
These posts are available for 2 years in the first instance during which period the University will undertake a review of the University’s security service to which the successful candidates will be required to contribute.
