An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual interested in developing his/her fundraising career in a thriving Development Team.  We are seeking an individual who has the skills and determination to help drive forward the University’s Annual Giving programme which is consistently ranked 3rd in the UK for alumni participation levels. 

This is a challenging role which will provide opportunities for developing skills in the cultivation and stewardship of annual giving level donors with responsibility for specific segments/caseloads and operational management of telephone fundraising appeals which is one of our key solicitation channels.  

To be successful in this role you should have an excellent understanding of, and passion for, the third sector as well as recognising the importance of philanthropy to higher education. We are seeking someone with all-round database skills including the ability to undertake complex data manipulation and analysis. Experience of working with the Raiser’s Edge database would be beneficial but training will be given.

The successful applicant will demonstrate good interpersonal skills, including the confidence and flexibility to communicate with people of all ages and levels.   Effective and efficient administrative skills and experience are vital, along with careful attention to detail and discretion in handling confidential material.  This role will require the role holder to take considerable daily responsibility for decision-making and the line management of a pool of student callers. 

Experience of publications, social media and marketing would be advantageous and the successful applicant must be prepared to work evenings and weekends from time to time to fulfil the duties of this role.
