The role will complement the work of St Andrews Communities Working Together (a joint initiative between Transition UStA and St Andrews Environment Network). The Project Officer will work to deliver low-carbon initiatives across the University and town in an effort to turn St Andrews into one of the most sustainable communities in the UK.

As Project Officer, your main responsibilities will be to coordinate existing projects; develop research links between academia and grassroots groups; support student-led ideas; and engage with external organisations on sustainability initiatives with the University. The Project Officer will complement existing positions and so a key aspect of the role will to be investigate how Transition can contribute to an integrated approach to sustainability across the University and to develop a 3 year plan to achieve this objective. On a day-to-day basis, the Transition UStA Steering Group will provide direction to the Project Officer; however, the role will also work closely with the existing Transition Project Coordinator. Some flexible working, in evenings and on weekends, will be required.

Applications for job sharing will be considered. You should provide details of how many hours you are available for work, and if there is another applicant you would consider working with.
