English Language Teaching (ELT), established in 1989, is a dynamic department of the University and it engages in a variety of ways with the recruitment, teaching and learning of international students from over thirty countries for whom English is not their first language. The University of St Andrews has embarked on an ambitious international strategy and ELT is an essential component in the delivery of its aims. The University seeks to appoint a new Director of English Language Teaching (ELT) to think creatively and strategically in order to diversify and innovate at programme level, as well as oversee the high-calibre, pedagogic expertise and development of ELT’s professional teaching staff.
