SACHI the St Andrews Computer Human Interaction research group wishes to recruit a Research Fellow in Human Computer Interaction to support a number of new and ongoing research projects in Ubiquitous User Interface development. In addition we seek someone wishing to develop original research ideas and to collaborate on new projects with industry and academics across SICSA in Scotland. The post will be based in the School of Computer Science so particular expertise and background experience in programming, interface design, evaluation, mobile application development or novel user interface development would be an advantage.

SACHI (http://sachi.cs.st-andrews.ac.uk) encourages group-wide collaborative research so there are opportunities to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate supervision, in addition to working on emerging topics of interest with any academic in SACHI.  The School is also looking for PhD Students in SACHI (http://sachi.cs.st-andrews.ac.uk/research/scholarships/). In addition demonstrated experience in augmented reality, interactive surface interface design and evaluation, information visualization, ubiquitous and pervasive computing or intelligent user interfaces would be highly advantageous.
 
You should have a good honours degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, and preferably have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in Computer Science. It is essential that you have strong software development and evaluation skills. In addition you must demonstrate that you are able to manage work across a number of projects with competing deadlines while leading the day-to-day work and development.

You should be a highly motivated individual who wants to be part of the foundation of a world-class HCI research group with leading researchers. 

The post is available for 3 years in the first instance, with possible extension, starting as soon as possible.
