Details
We are seeking a research officer to provide technical support and analytical development in our state-of-the-art MC-ICPMS isotope geochemistry laboratories. These host one Neptune and two Nu Instruments MC-ICP-MS, a 193-nm excimer laser, and two class 100 clean rooms to process pg-level samples. The role of the successful applicant will include:
  1. maintaining the instruments and clean laboratories, and troubleshooting instrumental issues in a time and cost- efficient manner;
  2. establishing and developing new analytical techniques;
  3. training laboratory users, including post-doctoral research fellows and graduate students;
  4. contribute to and write papers for peer-reviewed journals;
  5. forging and maintaining collaborations with academic and industrial partners;
  6. optimising lab usage to balance research project data production with quick turn-around commercial contract work;
  7. overseeing lab orders and budgeting;
  8. overseeing lab safety procedures.
