The School of Modern Languages is seeking to appoint a fixed term Research Fellow from 14 September 2016 (or as soon as possible thereafter) until 24 August 2018. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the AHRC funded research project `Rwandan Stories of Change’ (Post-Traumatic Growth in Testimonies from Survivors and Perpetrators of the Rwanda Genocide). For more information about the project, visit www.nottingham.ac.uk/go/rwanda
Led by Professor Nicki Hitchcott, who is moving to a chair at St Andrews in September 2016, this project aims to gain a qualitative understanding of the impact of the 1994 genocide on Rwandan people. The Research Fellow will work with members of the research team and with colleagues in Rwanda to produce a detailed analysis of a sample of testimonies from survivors and perpetrators of the genocide. The person appointed will be expected to produce publications, both independently and with other members of the team, to disseminate the project’s findings, and to help with the organisation of planned impact and engagement events.
The successful candidate will be expected to have completed a PhD in a relevant subject area.
Applications are particularly welcome from women, who are under-represented in research positions at the University. You can find out more about Equality & Diversity at https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/.
