Are you a highly motivated graduate with the right skills to optimise how we operate our building energy systems and help the University to reduce its carbon footprint and be carbon neutral for energy by 2016?  The role of Graduate BEMS Engineer is a major part of our efforts to make our built environment more energy efficient and to support the first class research and teaching that is carried out.

In this exciting new role you will have responsibility for BEMS within the University buildings where you will use your existing knowledge supplemented by training from industry experts to provide the University with specialist BEMS expertise.  You will ensure that BEMS systems, metering and associated infrastructure deliver the most efficient, cost effective and technically competent service and solutions in order to meet University requirements now and in the future.

You will be part of a team of energy and engineering professionals, ensuring that BEMS and energy metering are developed to deliver environmental conditions and critical services to specification whilst maintaining utilities expenditure within budget.  As a graduate, you will be provided with the assistance and development training that you need to help you to build your own knowledge and leadership skills.

Candidates should ideally be educated to degree level, with a buildings-related and systems controls qualification. Those with mechanical, electrical and sustainable engineering, relevant science or I.T. qualifications will also be considered.  You will have excellent IT skills, and an enquiring mind, willingness to learn, excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and enjoy problem solving.
